About Ruben

Ruben Van keer is a Belgian actor and singer. Since first toddling onto stage at the age of five, thanks to his theatre-loving parents and their local theatre group, theatre has been his passion. Even though, he felt the magic begin, he first studied Physical Education. After graduating in 2011, he did a Bachelor degree in Music Theatre in Tilburg, the Netherlands (2011-2015) and a Master degree in London at the Royal Academy of Music (2015-2016).

Theatre whilst training

Whilst training in The Netherlands Ruben played Hamlet in Hamlet, Lysander in A midsummer night's dream and Alan Strang in Equus.

Whilst training at the Royal Academy of Music, Ruben played Robert in Company directed by Sam Yates and Anthony in Sweeney Todd directed by Michael Fentiman, musical direction by Torquil Munro and choreography by Sam Spencer-Lane.

Theatre

Ruben’s currently playing Grantaire in the UK & Ireland Tour of Les Misérables. Last year, he was delighted to play the title role of Wolfgang Mozart in Mozart! The Musical in Antwerp, for which he won the Musicalworld-award for best male lead. Earlier, he covered and played the lead role of Strat in the world premiere of Bat Out Of Hell - the Musical in London’s West End and on tour. Other credits include Knights of the Rose and Dogfight.
